William H. Anger provides our clients with the benefit of 25 years of experience in structuring business, real estate, and water rights transactions, as well as in representing business and public clients as an advocate in litigation and appeals related to similar transactions. Bill's perspective is enhanced by his experience on both sides of deals, and he benefits clients by structuring transactions that stand up in the long run. Bill joined the firm as a partner in 2003. He has received an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell.

Bill received his Juris Doctor degree from the DePaul University School of Law in 1981 and was a member of the DePaul Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science with honors in both subjects from Denison University in Granville, Ohio in 1978.

Bill has been active in the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel for more than a decade serving as President in 2005 and serving on its Board as Amicus Chairman and in various leadership positions. He also co-authored the Federal Appellate Practice Guide - Ninth Circuit, 1999 and 2003 supplement published by West Group.

Bill is also an active member of the Phoenix community, is a graduate and former Board member of the Valley Leadership program, and has donated his time as an officer of Valley Celebrity Sports raising money for the Arizona Spina Bifida Association, and as Boys Commissioner of the St. Francis Little and Senior League, among other community activities.

Cases & Completed Transactions:

• Assisted a developer client in the acquisition and development of a 40,000-acre real estate project, including drafting real estate purchase and sales contracts, handling water rights issues, and forming and licensing business entities relating to the development.
  
  
• Represented a major auto-rental company in the negotiation and purchase of its regional corporate office, including negotiating and drafting the purchase and sales contract, and handling zoning, signage and development agreement issues related to the transaction.
  
  
• During the past three years, represented clients in the formation, purchase or sale of a broad range of businesses, including: real estate development, lending, manufacturing, packaging, grocery stores, medical supply, waste disposal, motor vehicle sales or rentals, pest control, printing, restaurant, food storage, website design, internet games, water company, health club, dental, engineering, construction, and other types of businesses.
  
  
• Negotiated water service and other agreements for entities and landowners seeking to ensure access to sufficient water supplies and compliance with Groundwater Code.
  
  
• In five separate appeals during the past decade, briefed and argued numerous water law issues before the Arizona Supreme Court for Phoenix area municipalities.
  
  
• Represented six valley cities in ensuring proper allocation of Central Arizona Project water supplies.
  
  
• Represented a large Phoenix area homeowners' association in an appeal from conservation requirements imposed by the Arizona Department of Water Resources on several lakes owned by the association.
