Lorena E. Chávez joined Engelman Berger in 2007 after graduating Cum Laude from Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Lorena’s law school career included externships for the Hon. Mary H. Murguia, United States District Court, District of Arizona, and for the Hon. Daniel A. Barker, Arizona Court of Appeals. During law school, Lorena participated in the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Legal Clinic where she represented numerous indigent clients in matters ranging from preparation for trial, sentencing, preliminary hearings and evidentiary hearings.

Ms. Chávez graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting on a full academic scholarship with lower-division honors from the Barrett Honors College. She is a long-time Arizona resident, having grown up in Yuma Arizona and Ciudad Morelos, Baja California, Mexico. Ms. Chavez is fluent in Spanish. She is a member of Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association. Lorena is also involved in efforts to bring essentials to the impoverished community of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.
