(Phoenix, Arizona) The Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education honored Wade M. Burgeson, of the Phoenix-based law firm Engelman Berger, as one of the Top Pro Bono Lawyers at the La Paloma Resort in Tucson on June 16th. The Top Pro Bono Award is the second in the last year for the growing firm after David Engelman received the William E. Morris Pro Bono Service Award as Volunteer Lawyer of the Year in 2004.
Earlier this year, Wade received the William Birmingham Clinic Services Award for his participation in the Volunteer Lawyers Program, which is conducted through Community Legal Services. Mr. Burgeson earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Dakota, where he graduated with distinction in 1994 and is admitted to practice before the courts of Arizona, Nevada and Colorado. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, American Bar Association and the Turnaround Management Association. Mr. Burgeson currently focuses on representing borrowers, lenders, and related parties in bankruptcy litigation, loan disputes, and enforcement of lender’s rights.
In addition to the Volunteer Lawyer Program, Engelman Berger is involved with many civic activities including the Self Service Center at the Bankruptcy Court, where they meet with individuals with questions about bankruptcy procedures and alternatives.
