David Engelman honored as ‘Volunteer Lawyer of the Year’
(Phoenix, Arizona) David Wm. Engelman of the Phoenix-based commercial law firm Engelman Berger has been selected to receive the WIlliam E. Morris Pro Bono Service Award as ‘Volunteer Lawyer of the Year’ by the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education. This award recognizes extraordinary contributions by an Arizona attorney in making legal services available to persons who otherwise could not afford them, and thereby to focus public awareness on the substantial voluntary services rendered by Arizona attorneys in this area.

“David Engelman has distinguished himself in many ways that merit recognition with this lifetime achievment award, including his direct pro bono services to low income clients, consultation, training, recruitment and assistance of staff and volunteer attorneys, and systemic work to improve access to justice”, states Pat Gerrich of Community Legal Services. “Among other achievements, David Engelman has rendered long-term service to Maricpa County by being a leader in our community who has motivated others to work harder and better. His personal committment has prompted positive action within several local organizations and his counsel is highly sought after”, according to Rabbi Robert L. Kravitz, Executive Director of the Arizona chapter of the American Jewish Committee.

David Engelman will be presented this prestigious award at the State Bar Convention June 10th at the Phoenician in Scottsdale. For more information or to purchase tickets for the award luncheon, please contact Community Legal Services at 602-258-3434.
